 About the Founder
A self-proclaimed native of the world-- by way of the United States Air Force-- Venicia has worked in arts and entertainment for over 15 years.
From musicals, short films, stage plays, showcases, and campaigns, to children’s theater, fashion shows, and concerts, Venicia has been a dedicated asset to the arts and entertainment world.
Her experience in production management, event coordination, producing, directing, costuming, props, hair and makeup artistry, comedic writing, marketing and design, and creative consulting have allowed her to assist many producers bring their projects to life. Venicia received her first Bachelor of Arts from Alabama State University, where she was the first female and technical theater student to serve two consecutive terms as president of the Dramatic Guild-- a performance, modeling, and technical theater campus organization. Her creative thinking, strong leadership skills, compassion, passion, and ability to relate to students from all walks of life manifested as two successful terms. During this time, Venicia managed to implement various programs, including “ D’Guild Showcase,” a variety and talent show geared towards giving new artists a chance to perform for the community. She also initiated “ A Christmas Wish,” a program in which she teamed with the Montgomery County Department of Human Resources and Public Housing Authority to provide gifts to many families in need.
During her stint at ASU, Venicia worked as a videographer, editor, and technical theater instructor for the annual summer camps. She was eventually promoted to Assistant Director for two summers. As a master of many things, she also graced the stage as The Lady in Green in a memorable performance of Ntozake Shange’s masterpiece, “ For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf”. Her acting was recognized and praised by American College Theater Festival adjudicators, and she was considered ' a force to be reckoned with'. Though she prefers to be behind the scenes, Venicia believes every director should act at least once. With an extensive resume and strong work ethic to boot, Venicia always finds time to squeeze in many projects simultaneously. She is an admitted over multi-tasker and workaholic when it comes to projects she loves. She has exhibited this work ethic in theater productions such as “ The Wiz”, “ Joe Turner’s Come and Gone”, “ Medea”, Bubblin’ Brown Sugar, “ The Emperor Jones,” “ Wine in the Wilderness,” “ Tartuffe,” “ Heart of Dixie,” and “ Jesus Christ Superstar” to name a few.
While a student at ASU, Venicia was selected to serve as the casting director and coordinator for Montgomery, Alabama's first Crimestoppers. Her attention to detail and innovative directing skills helped produce successful reenactments of local crimes. In high demand due to her loyalty, creativity, and dedication to projects she committed to, Venicia decided to start a production company. “I am the business…the business is me,” she says, so she assumed the name Godsfavor Enterprises. “ I do the work of many men, if I may toot my own horn, so why not be an enterprise.” One of her first jobs as an "enterprise" was serving as a makeup artist for the campaign commercials for mayor Bobby Bright, as well as a Supreme Court justice. That was just the beginning.
Committed to reaching back and “paying it forward,” Venicia has dedicated many years to community service-- especially the needs of “at-risk” youth-- young black males in particular. She has selflessly operated in the capacity of teacher, mentor, counselor, confidant, and friend to many troubled young people. She served as the local United Way SAYNO's Youth Summer Program Director for 2 years. This gave Venicia the ammunition to start her own private summer enrichment program for young girls whom she educated and mentored, focusing on issues such as education, self-esteem, hygiene, etiquette, sex, relationships, arts, community service, and finance. During this time Venicia served as a youth minister, program director, and dance instructor for a local ministry while simultaneously fulfilling the duty of associate producer for a local tv show. She also had a brief stint in the Montgomery, AL public school system as a Speech/Drama teacher at Brewbaker Jr. High, and is well known for effectively counseling children of divorce and broken homes.

Though she dedicates much time to her community, Venicia is probably best known for her vibrance, sense of humor, generosity, free spirit, and her addiction to live music concerts and documentary filmmaking. Many of her associates say that if she is not introducing someone to new music, she is interviewing them for a documentary. As a matter of fact, her love of music landed her the position of coordinator for the “ Tribute to Donny Hathaway" concert starring Rodney Wilkerson, and the permanent title of band manager for the "Tribute to Luther Vandross” diabetes awareness benefit concert starring Eric Nettles and Friends. In addition to serving as a personal assistant to the headliner, Venicia managed a crew of 2 technicians, an engineer, 8 musicians, 2 hosts (Michelle "Drama Diva" Summers and Tyrone "Hollywood" Graham), and up to 10 background vocalists at any given time.
In this capacity Venicia handled public relations, marketing, all administrative responsibilities, and assisted in set design and construction. She crossed two of her favorite mediums and used her talent for editing video to create a promotional package for the band as well. Though music is an integral part of her life, Venicia finds no greater satisfaction than writing, directing, editing, and producing her own docu-series; " The Colored Girl Memoirs," a collection of documentaries on the lives of 6 women using their talents to traverse the world. This passion began many years ago and she has an extensive archive of footage of her subjects which she has collected for the past ten years. Armed with her camera, passion, and a desire to heal the masses, Venicia recognizes Spike Lee and Michael Moore as being two of the greatest inspirations to foster her desire to be a documentary filmmaker.
In 2007 Venicia enrolled in film school at Miami International University of Art and Design in order to gain more knowledge and experience in the film industry. While there she was able to increase her creative portfolio with a short comedy, commercials, and promotional and music videos.
After 3 quarters of intense training, Venicia was accepted into the NY Film Academy (Los Angeles division). However, upon her return to Montgomery, AL for a summer break, Venicia discovered that there was still work for her to do in the city so she postponed her trip to Los Angeles.

Since then she has worked with Pneuma Performing Arts Production Company (Guenada Meaux-Lambert and Michelle Summers) on several projects, including a Black History program and CPAC (Lewis Webb) on a youth camp. She also co-produced the gospel concert, " Brothers in the Name of Love" starring Cinque Cullar, Leo Lewis Jr., Eric Nettles, and special guest Lady Tramaine Hawkins. In 2010, Venicia produced the first volume of " Southern Soul Sessions" an old school - new soul tribute concert series at The Davis Theatre for Performing Arts. She plans to tour the country with this crowd pleasing production in the future. Without a doubt one of her latest and greatest assignments is working with the women of Life Time Resolutions-- a holistic healing center for women in Montgomery, AL. As a candidate for a Master's Degree in Psychology and Counseling in Clinical Mental Health, Venicia says she comfortably settled into the role of a Creative Art Therapist, even though she was hired to serve in a different capacity. Using her Theater and Education background mixed with her passion for helping hurting people and counseling, she assisted the ladies in discovering hidden gifts and talents. " It is one of the most rewarding ventures ever. Art, Theater, and women willing to explore and open up to the process makes for a superb combination." Venicia served as the Public Relations Director and Media Specialist for LTR.
No stranger to hard work, Venicia’s dedication, tenacity, and pure love for the arts, entertainment, and counseling are what drive her to continually seek her next piece of inspiration. Her only desire is to use her work as a vehicle to motivate, inspire, evoke emotion, and provoke thought in the masses. Though she credits her mother for sparking the arts passion by exposing her to great music and art, keeping her in dance and writing classes, plays, and on the dance floor as a child, she gives God all of the glory for her many gifts, talents, desires, and dreams, and says her greatest work is yet to be produced. She simply wants to heal the world-- 10 people at a time-- through her work.
